Unlocking Potential Through
Professional Clarity

Cherrida (Cherry) Crew
Founder & Lead SpLD Assessor
Specialist knowledge, human support
Cherrida (Cherry) Crew founded The Dyslexia Experts to combine rigorous diagnostic standards with compassionate, human-centred support. A qualified Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) assessor with a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), she conducts specialist diagnostic assessments for dyslexia and dyscalculia with children and adults. For adults aged 18 and over, she also offers non-diagnostic screening for characteristics associated with ADHD and Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD/dyspraxia), helping clients decide whether further investigation by an appropriate healthcare professional may be beneficial.
Her experience spans primary-age pupils, university students seeking Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), and adults looking for answers after years of unexplained difficulty. Cherry creates a calm, welcoming environment and tailors every assessment to the individual's educational history, current experiences, aspirations, strengths and areas of difficulty. Her reports are comprehensive, evidence-based and clearly written, with practical recommendations for schools, colleges, universities, employers and individuals.
Alongside leading The Dyslexia Experts, Cherry works within specialist neurodiversity services and keeps her practice current through ongoing professional development, research and best practice. She believes that identifying a learning difference should bring clarity, reassurance and confidence - never define a person's potential - and should help children and adults access the right support and achieve their goals.

The Values That Drive Every Assessment
Integrity Over Labels
We don't just provide a diagnosis; we provide an honest, evidence-based profile of how you learn, prioritising accuracy and ethics.
Strength-Based Approach
Every cognitive challenge has a corresponding strength. We specialise in finding the 'gift' in dyslexia and the 'logic' in dyscalculia.
Lifetime Advocacy
An assessment is a tool for self-advocacy. We empower you with the language and evidence needed to ask for what you deserve.
